Refundable Registration is currently available for all events and programs. It is not available for Atlanta Track Club membership or Youth Team participation.
What is Refundable Registration?
During the registration process, participants now have the opportunity to add Refundable Registration offered from Protect Group. To secure Refundable Registration, an additional service fee of 14% on all items purchased (excluding event processing fees and donations) will be assessed at checkout. If purchased and unable to attend the event for one of the covered reasons, Refundable Registration enables a participant to receive a 100% refund of their entry fee and product purchases within 10 business days of submitting a claim.
What Refundable Registration Covers:
If participants cannot attend the event due to any of the reasons below and can provide the requested evidence through a submission claim, participants will receive a refund.
- Illness / Injury (including Covid-19)
- Pre-existing Medical Condition
- Pregnancy Complication
- Death of Immediate Family
- Public Transport Failure
- Flight disruption
- Mechanical Breakdown
- Adverse Weather
- Home Emergency
- Theft of Documents
- Jury Service
- Court Summons
- Armed Forces & Emergency Services Recall
- Relocated for Work
- Changes to Examination Dates

What is not covered by Refundable Registration?
Refundable Registration does not cover the following:
- Concern about COVID-19 or self-isolation without a positive COVID-19 test, or other non-COVID-19 communicable diseases leading to quarantines or travel restrictions
- Event organizers cancelling the race
- Processing fees associated with items
- If you defer registration to a future year
Please note refunds are administered by Protect Group, not by Atlanta Track Club or haku.
Can I purchase Refundable Registration for my Atlanta Track Club membership?
Refundable Registration is not available for Atlanta Track Club membership.
Can I purchase Refundable Registration for other Atlanta Track Club events and programs?
Yes, Refundable Registration is available for events and programs as of August 2023. It is not available for Youth Team participation.
Regarding In-Training Programs & Refund Protect: Refund Protect is only applicable if the qualifying event (illness, injury, etc.) occurs before the first day of training. If the qualifying event happens on or after the first day of training, the athlete is not eligible for a refund. The first day of training is the Training begins date under Program Schedule; not the first in-person practice.
How do I see if I've purchased Refundable Registration?
Refundable Registration is a product in your haku participant account. To see your products, login and click on the BUY PRODUCTS, tab and toggle to YOUR PRODUCTS. There you'll find your refund protection purchase. If you do not see Refund Protect listed, your registration is not eligible for a refund.
Can I purchase Refundable Registration afterward I've already registered?
No. Refundable Registration is only available for purchase during registration. It cannot be added after check out.
What do I need to submit my claim?
To submit your claim, you need your BOOKING CONFIRMATION REFERENCE NUMBER. This number can be found in your registration confirmation email or the product page of your haku participant account. To see your products, login and click on the BUY PRODUCTS, tab and toggle to YOUR PRODUCTS. The product number is your booking reference confirmation number.
How do I receive my refund?
If you purchased Refundable Registration and you are unable to participate in the event due to one of the covered reasons, you must complete the submission claim as soon as possible. Registrants are able to submit a claim as soon as they know they can't attend and up to 60 days post the event date.
How do I contact Protect Group?
After submitting a refund submission claim, you will receive an automated email from Protect Group. The best way to contact Protect Group is by replying to that email. There is also a "Ask a Question" button on this claim form. Any inquiries submitted there will go directly to Protect Group.
