Cheney Stadium

Nestled in the historic Summerhill neighborhood of Atlanta, Cheney Stadium houses the recently resurfaced 1996 Olympic warmup track. Tread upon by the world's greatest athletes more than two decades ago, the track is now used by community members, youth teams, and professional athletes to train. Owned by Atlanta Public Schools (APS), a modern surface was installed in 2017 with the generous support of donors and Atlanta Track Club. Cheney represents Atlanta Track Club's commitment to equitable access and is a visible manifestation of the Track Club's partnership with APS.
